Newbie help?

I'm a new website owner. I'm delighted by all the available stats, but am not quite sure what I'm looking at. Looks like I've gotten a stunning number of hits, but I'm not at all sure. Can anyone suggest a tutorial? Thanks!

Hits are basically the number of page views you site has recieved, uniques are counted seperately (how many unique users have visited your site)

If you are unsure of any aspect of the stats feel free to post here (or alternatively search google using keywords :) )
