return to sendmail

i would like to switch back to sendmail so i can use virtualmin from webmin. but i dont see a script or guid on how to do so. can anyone point me in the right direction please.

DirectAdmin won't work with Sendmail.

So you'd have to find a control panel that uses it.

And switch to that control panel.

Or perhaps find a webmin module for exim; try this google search (http://www.google.com/search?q=webmin+exim).

While webmin is moderately dangerous to use with DA, virtualmin may be extremely dangerous, as DA has it's own concept of how to set up users.

i guess i forgot what da was suing before dovcot. probly wasent sendmail then :)

yes it does come with the dovcot plugin but the virtualmin plugin dosent like it.

i guess your right about it being dangerous. i will test it first bofore i go any further.

thanks for the info more would be apriciated. like how to go back to the mail server that was used before dovcot.

It was I'm not sure who wrote the imap daemon; the pop3 daemon is vm-pop3d.

DirectAdmin themselves says you can't go backwards, so I'm not going to attempt it; you might want to contact their support department.

Switching to the right exim.conf file is the easy part, but you'll have to convert a lot of mailboxes backwards, and install the missing daemons.

Maybe a few other things as well, such as configurations.
