Help me setup hostname. I have tried many things.

Hi,

I have setup DA few days ago. I have setup some inexisting hostame.
Then I have changed hostname to server1.domainxyz.com

I have create user with domainxyz.com, setup nameservers and create some other users. And everything runs fine. I can access domainxyz.com and other users domains but...
I cant access hostname server1.domainxyz.com.

I have search the forum and found some topics. I have add A entry for server1.domainxyz.com in domainxyz.com zone.
I was trying use hostname.sh from DA directory. I have manualy delate hostname from /etc/hosts and setup hostname in DA again, but nothing helps.

I can ping server1.domainxyz.com from sthe server but I cant ping it from nowhere else.

What can I do with that. I see that some other people had problems with this.

Where exacly should I put A entry and how exacly should it look like?

well you can use the edit dns but it should already be in there. If not go to the dns for that domain and make sure its in there.
I know sometimes it takes a while to resolve. strangely on my server the hostname took about 4 days to resolve while everything else was fine. Best way to check it is ping it from the server

Do you have your name servers registered with the registrar properly? Without that, the domains won't resolve outside of your server. Try going to http://dnsreport.com and plug your domainname in and see what it says.

Thanks, i have solved the problem.
Truly speeking I dont now what was the problem but after few hours of reconfiguring the server everything works fine!!!:)
