RTG instead of MRTG?

Did anybody try to setup RTG (http://rtg.sourceforge.net/) instead of MRTG?

note that this is only if you are trying to get information off switches/routers/other snmp devices.

This wont work with getting info on your cpu load, network thoughput from your eth port, etc (as far as i can see)
