At one server, a new Debian Sarge 3.1 was installed about a week or 2 ago or so.

Today someone noticed mailing with the server to addresses that aren't on the localhost, weren't possible.
After logging into the server, the problem became clear very soon. The popb4smtp service wasn't running, but DA didn't notice this.

Does anyone know how DA checks if this service is running, and how it can be possible that the process isn't active?
I've manually tried it with the s option, giving a verbose output, seemed fine.
So I started it as root.

But my main concern is, how is this caused?

I've never seen this on other Debian servers.
Furthermore, this server has been in production for over a week without any problems like this. So it's not caused by the default crons or logrotate processes.

I can write a simple Bash script that checks if the service is running, however I'd really like to see that DA fixes the problems it seems to cause (or that are DA related).

There are several threads on these forums discussing adding and removing services from the DA service monitor.

I know you can custom add a service to the DA service monitor.
However with other operating systems I've worked with, popb4smtp is regulated by Direct Admin itself (by default).
It is a solution to custom add it, however it will not fix the reason why DA doesn't automatically do something.
If I look at my older Red Hat servers, I find the process to be running perfectly...

So I'm really wondering if someone forgat to change or add something for support with Debian.
