Hi,
POP-Before-SMTP seems broken on FreeBSD 6. Where's the package/source to recompile da-popb4smtp for FreeBSD 6?
Many thanks,
Matt :)

works here. But the files should be in http://files.directadmin.com/services/freebsd6.0/ if not there look in 5.1 and install freebsd5 compat libs.

Hi Chrysalis,
Thanks but there's no 6.0 package, and I'm already running the 5.1 with compat5x. I'll just try reinstalling from the 5.1 package.
Thanks,
Matt :)

Hmmm... seems there's no 5.1 package either.

whats it supposed to do, perhaps the no package means its a discontinued part of DA service.

The POP-Before-SMTP daemon? AFAIK it parses IPs from Dovecot's logs and puts them in /etc/virtual/pophosts, for SMTP authentication in Exim.

Have you emailed john yet on this?

Well it's used with Dovecot or vm-pop3d, depending on what you're using. Haven't told John yet, thought I'd post here first. I'll email him now.

PopB4SMTP is DA's standard email authentication system for email users and it's certainly not been discontinued ;) .

I found the problem, it's related to:
http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13259
Running it in the background with:
cd /usr/local/directadmin
./da-popb4smtp s
...helped me find the problem. It can find the /var/log/maillog for parsing.
Thanks for all of your help,
Matt :)

Ok I was just trying to find a reason it may not be in the freebsd download locations.
