rsync continually hangs. Need something real.

Is there anything out there more real than rsync? I'm finding rsync is not real. It hangs at different points. According to what I've found online, it has some sort of locking problem. I don't have time for that. I need to have something that I can trust. I cannot keep restarting it and waiting for the next hang. I need something that runs on FreeBSD 6.0

I'm not sure what you mean by real.

rsync is the commonly used method of duplicating files across the 'net, and it's very stable.
