Add email accounts via shell

How can I setup and add emails to a domain via the shell is there any program that can set this up? I know when I used vpopmail their used to be commands to setup the domains via the shell.

I do not want to put the domain into directadmin only set it up the email via the shell so user can have email access.

DirectAdmin manages virtual email accounts on a per-domain basis.

You can use the DA API (search these forums) to set up virtual email accounts per domain without using the control panel.

Or do you want to set up linux email accounts?

Note that if you want the latter you can't duplicate email account names on the server.

You can do that with the adduser command and the passwd command, from a root shell login.
