RE: system mail

What do you do about user's who don't check email on their system account.

I can see a few people who have email files in excess of 15mb, and it's probably just mail delivery errors and such.

I'm just thinking that this counts toward their disk space right?

Should I let it just sit there? Notify the user about how this works? What do you do, if anything?

Since it's counted towards disk usage, personally I just let it be.

in one case, and 11MB files was a little over 5,000 emails. it can't be opened in webmail, and it would take hours to download and clutter a POP3 box. it's just a waste.

i only have 2 people with over 10mb, so i'll probably just inform them that it's there and see if they want me to free up that space for them.

thanks though, i wasn't sure if it was countd for sure.

Email usage can be turned on and off.

Just something to keep in mind.

It shouldn't take more than an hour to download 10mb, even on dialup.

there is client side factors besides bandwidth to account for the download speed as well. maybe it was my AV or something, but office outlook took a few minutes to download a couple hundred emails. I just cancelled and deleted my mail file on the server at that point.

thanks for the link although i think it's good to count email as disk space.
