uploading files

I am needing help. I have uploaded files and can view them under the public html folder. There must be a step I am missing. When I go to the site it advises me to upload files. Can you help me. :)

No, I have not been able to access by http://server_ip/~username The steps I have taken are as follows. I used front page to build the pages. I saved those files to a folder. I uploaded those files to public html folder insde the domain folder. Is there something I am missing. In frontpage I did pblish to web and used the server ip and username and password.

I am just a babe and need baby steps......;)

Did you name one of the files index.html?
If not the default index.html file will load for the domain telling you to upload your files.

Yes, one of the files is named index.htm. So should I delete the index.html?
