Just a heads up that there are skin changes coming up for 1.20.1. The new skins packages are already up (directadmin.com/default.tar.gz and power_user.tar.gz) which contain the changes as well as the entries in the changelog. I'll be updating the "skins updates" thread pretty quick.

I liked loopX, but unfortunatly its seems a dead skin... no updates are made for a long time... and with the many new features of DA since the last update... I consider it dead. Hope it wont happen the samme with this one!

Please do. Most important are links - because of variable |DOMAIN| is in lower case in some files and in upper case in other files there might be errors in user panel. If you'll see url ending with `domain` instead of current domain name in ether top navigation or left navigation please tell me. I think i fixed all such entries, but might have missed some.

Don't worry. Creating skins is my main web job (even though i'm far not the best, but also not the worst) and i've been creating skins for phpbb for more than 6 month and now added directadmin to list of software i work with and i'm not planning to quit nether phpbb nor directadmin skinning.

Skin is now available for translation.
Also skin was updated to DirectAdmin 1.20.4

To translate skin you need to edit files in directory "lang".

Don't be scared by number of files to edit - most files are not large. I made skin as translatable as it can get, but some parts that are generated by DirectAdmin unfortunately cannot be translated.

If anyone will translate it please email me a copy of translation (in zip or tar.gz format) so i will put it on download. Also tell me link to your website so i will post it near translation download link and please tell me your contact information so i would inform you when there are changes so you would update translations.

I rebuilt skin images and css, added some few features to make
navigation easier, fixed popups. Skin looks slightly different (mostly color changes) from what it used to look like.

Here are a couple of problems I run into when installing or using the skin. I'm only making suggestions, not bashing that great skin ;)

-We need versioning with the languages too. Right now the french language pack is missing the latest translations per example and we can only find out by installing the pack.

-In many places, just after we created something (email account,etc.), we have a "back" link only. It brings us to the creation dialog again. We need a way to return to the last major menu item (email). This could be done by always having that box on the left or by having a full breadcrumb at all times.

-The breadcrum in the title could have more text in it. Most of the time it says : user panel. It's not enough imo.

-In the user cp, when we run more than one domain name, we have a list so that we can chose which one to manage. The problem arises afterwards. I don't see any mention of the selected domain name anywhere, except in the URL.

I would love it if the fields where users insert username or password could have hard limits for the number of characters. It would be based on what's allowed by DA.

Because right now, people find out after hiting submit and some error messages don't indicate what's allowed, so they are a bit lost.

It can be changed on some forms, but some forums are static and cannot be edited in templates. Where exactly do you want this to be changed?

There is still that nasty bug on the ssl page (CMD_SSL).

I don't know if it's due to the skin or to the translation, but I cannot chose "Create A Certificate Request".
When I click on the selector on the left. Both selector on the right are greyed out.

That page also has code written as text at the beginning of the page.

There should be no code at the beginning of that page. I just checked that page with IE and Opera and with both browsers it worked fine. You might have uploaded some file incorrectly.

What version of skin and language are you using?

Replace lang_user_ssl.html with one in attachment (rename .txt to .html because this forum doesn't allow to attach .html).

Looks like there is limit for text when variable is assigned and it caused problem.

ok. i see problem. works perfectly with Opera and IE, but doesn't work with Mozilla. It seems to be javascript bug. I used javascript from default skin and didn't modify it.

Its very late (2:30 AM), so i'll fix this problem first thing in the morning.

I didn't base this skin on power_user - i based it on default skin. I heavily rebuilt it (as you can see by comparing source), but i didn't change html code for that page and didn't change any javascript. I will forward fix to directadmin staff as soon as i find it. Javascript on that page is correct, so it is mozilla bug and now i'll need to find workaround for problem so it will work with mozilla too....

I attached fixed version of ssl.html for Hermes skin and for default skin. Looks like there are more similar problems in other html files - i will check and fix it too.

Thank you. I have now access to those selectors.
There is one remaining difference with the official skins. The options are greyed out when the selector on the left is not at position 2.

And I've just checked the default skin. I don't have that bug with Mozilla, it seems it's a hermes skin bug only.

I found problem. There was bug with ssl page in default skin until version 1.20.4 - then it was fixed, but i didn't notice that and didn't fix my skin.

Now i'll need to go thru all changes from 1.196 (my skin is based on 1.196) to latest version and see what else i missed and next time i'll be more careful on these tiny changes that aren't announced in versions.php

This is nether bug nor translation issue. That code is for result:

Merci interfasys pour la notice. J'ai updaté le pack et corrigé les fautes pour la page SSL. Par contre, pour le :
"Dernière connexion: `LASTLOGIN` de `LASTHOST`." du panneau utilisateur je ne le vois pas. Le code fonctionne parfaitement ici. J'ai essayé avec Firebird et IE. La ligne complète est :

Of course. That would be great!

And this skin has nothing to do with that translation project - that project translates only index page, this skin is translated completely (well... not completely - everything that is translatable is translated, but some parts are generated by directadmin and cannot be translated).

And i will be changing language files format within next 2 weeks (that depends on how soon full php support will be added in directadmin - right now its in beta and missing some important tokens), but don't worry about that - i will convert all existing translations to new format myself and already wrote script for automatic conversion.

Well it just seems to me like the smartest thing to do is have a sort of like "system-wide" translation file. Now several people are translating to the same language whereas all skin makers would comply to a single language file format there wouldn't be duplicate translations.

And this way John & Mark could also tap into the language file structure and integrate it quite easily for the standard skins.

I'll start working on the translation.

is it me or do i miss a link to the messaging system for msgs that my users send to me as reseller? When i click top left messaging system i only see msgs i send a server admin, not msgs i get from my users.
I have to open the lkink from the alert email i get to see it

When i go to the default skin theres a link below right called "You have 0 new support request(s). " and when clicked it shows my users msgs.....I don't see these links anywhere in the hermes or persephone skin

"Utilisation des journaux d'apache" could be changed to something like "Journaux Apache des accès aux sites"
"Journal d'erreur d'apache" could be changed to something like "Journaux Apache des erreurs"
"Copie des journaux d'apache" could be changed to something like "Archives des journaux Apache"

Skin was completely rebuilt. Now it uses same language pack as Persephone skin (http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1740) so there will be no need to make different translations for different skins. There are also lots of other changes (since it was completely rebuilt).

It should be stable, but might contain small bugs. For production enviroment i recommend to use 1.06 in case if this release contains bugs.

No, sorry. I don't have enough servers to run demo for all skins. I have only one server where i can setup demo, but it is used for ClioMail skin right now.

Im interested in finding this skin as a demo.
No offence to the direct admin guys(I know theyve worked very hard on DA but in my opinion it will be very difficult to sell servers with D.A. by using the directadmin.com demo. To bulky and unclean.
If someone has a url that i can use as my direct admin demo for this skin i would appreciate any help.

Anyone who has a custom skin installed should be able to set up their own demo using that skin.

1. When logged into DA as admin, click the "Set Admin Settings" link.

2. At the bottom, there is the option to select the demo skin for that server which says "Document Root to Demo Skin".

3. Where it says "./data/skins/default", Just put in the name of the skin you want to use in place of the default skin (must be the same as the skin name in your skins list). In ours, we have changed it to "./data/skins/power_user"

Once this is done, you can direct potential clients to your own demo using that skin:

Login:
User Demo - Login: demo_user Password : demo
Reseller Demo - Login: demo_reseller Password : demo
Admin Demo - Login: demo_admin Password : demo

We have replaced the default skin on our own demo with the stock "power_user" skin and it works just fine.

I don't know, but probably it won't work. There are too many restrictions with safe_mode. I suggest to use suphp (http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1985) instead of safe_mode.

No, there isn't such feature. And problem is that directadmin control panel doesn't allow to add custom images in scripts without modifying files_*.conf in skin directory.... but i'll try to think of something...

The only change is tokens for help url (http://www.directadmin.com/features.php?id=404) are used by skin. There are no other changes, so if you are using default help urls then there is no need to update. And there are no changes in langauge files.

Hello

I'm creating my own language file(Japanese), but when I upload it to Lang folder. Hermes skin collapses and it only shows a white screen.
I also tried to edit language files from File Manager, it does work and shows proper Japanese characters.

So my question is what is the problem??:(
Could anybody give me some tips how to upload original language files?

You have to download the whole skin, extract it and replace it with your own lang file and zip is with TAR + GZ again.
