change nameserver name

i want to change the nameserver name
this
ns1.name.com 1.1.1.1
ns2.name.com 1.1.1.2

to

ns1.name.net 1.1.1.1
ns2.name.net 1.1.1.2

can i safely delete the nameservers and then create a new nameservers?
