sometime ago I had this problem:

Now it happened again
I can't really fix it
I try restarting imapd (inetd), vm-pop3d
killing inetd, starting again... just killing, etc
vm-pop3d just doesn't come back
sockstat -4 | grep 110 doesn't show port 110 open also
and the maillog keeps saying the address is in use..
any suggestion for this next time it happens?
before not even restarting, vm-pop3d had freezed... but was running
