I setup my two name servers to use the multi server function for DNS. On each of my servers I added the other server and enabled Multi Server. Anytime I test the connection from either server, I get the following error:
DirectAdmin v1.25.1 Unable to get api result. Check your configuration options.
Anyone have any experience on this?

I got the same error. I noticed that the SSL flag is switched off, I can't turn it on and my servers use SSL.
edit:
Just changed SSL manualy in the cluster.conf in /usr/local/directadmin/data/admin.
The connection works now.

Hello,
Remember you need to check the checkbox on the right for the settings to the left of it to be saved. ('Select' column)
If you don't select the "select" checkbox on the far right, nothing will be saved in that row.

you are correct, that I didn't do. That works.
But when you add the server than the SSL box is ignored.

Hi,
I get the same error, I've tried with and without ssl, both systems have either or.
/usr/local/directadmin/data/admin/cluster.conf
60.234.x.x=dns=yes&domain_check=yes&passwd=XXXXX=&port=2222&ssl=no&user=barry
When I test the connection it gives the same API error.
Both servers are running FreeBSD with the latest version of DA

Sorry got it working, one of the DA box's had a slightly diff version.
Questions:
1./ I've created the multi server setup created a domain and all works (verified with dig). The problem I have is if i log into the secondary box, it still allows me to add the same domain, so it would seem it allows a duplicate for the domain without checking if it exists first.
2./ How can one check the secondary system to see whether it has actually added it to the system. If I login to the secondary system and check DNS admin, it doesnt list the domain.
3./ How does one update all existing domains on the primary system to now use the secondary too, i.e. it would need to add the A record for the ns3, plus it would need to add an NS record. I've modified the template so this works for new domains, however I cant find a way to get the existing domains working without manually adding each A & NS record.
Any ideas?

I got the same error, I've tried with and without ssl, both systems have either or.
When I test the connection it gives the same API error.
Both servers are running different OS. RH9 and RH Ent3, with the latest version of DA.
Anybody encounter the same problem?

Make sure you use the admin user and not the root.

Yes, I'm using admin as the user, I've upgraded to the latest version of DA and it's still the same problem.

Hi ktizo,
Did you open port 2222 on your firewall?
Cheers
