Problem updating centos 3.4 with yum

Today i tried to update my Centos 3.4 box and got this error that does not allow me to do so:

error: db4 error(13) from db->close: Permission denied

I have googled it but not clear asnwers. Any Ideas?

Note: Server and DA running fine.

Are you running yum as root?

Have you installed the yum CentOS 3.1 key?

Yes Jeff I am running Yum as root and i havent installed the yum CentOs key. I dont remember doing that in my other box.

Got me lost on that one. How do i do it?

sorry for digging such a old thread here, but I just like to know if it is possible to update from 3.4 to 4.2 with just the disc, since there is a update option other than yum.
